Liverpool are reportedly planning to raid another Premier League club for two players in an impressive double signing.

Liverpool have had a quiet start to the summer transfer window following the arrival of Arne Slot as the club's new head coach, with the Dutchman replacing Jurgen Klopp.

The former Feyenoord boss is currently away with the rest of the Liverpool squad on their pre-season tour of the United States.

The Reds take on Real Betis in their opening friendly in Pittsburgh in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Liverpool are yet to make a single senior signing this summer, although several senior players have departed the club – including Thiago Alcantara, Adrian and Joel Matip, who left when their contracts expired at the end of June.

Much of the focus behind the scenes is reported to be on securing new contracts for key players, with Trent Alexander-Arnold reportedly close to signing a new long-term deal amid interest from Real Madrid.

It is hoped Alexander-Arnold will commit his future to his boyhood club until either 2028 or 2029 on a contract that will see him become one of the highest earners in the squad.

Some supporters have grown impatient with the lack of transfer activity at Anfield, voicing their disapproval on social media.

But they could have something to celebrate very soon.

According to GiveMeSport, Liverpool are considering a bid to sign both Pedro Neto and Rayan Ait-Nouri from Wolves in a double deal.

Liverpool are said to have been in touch with Neto's representatives as well as Wolves to discuss the possibility of a summer move to Merseyside.

The report claims "there is a growing expectation that agent Jorge Mendes will push for his client to secure an eye-catching move" after being linked with several top clubs, including Premier League rivals Arsenal, Newcastle and Tottenham.

Portugal international Neto still has three years left on his current deal and is unlikely to come cheap, with Wolves said to be seeking at least £60m for his signature.

A move for the winger would make sense for Liverpool, who will be keen to recruit a long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah, who is entering the final year of his contract with the Reds.

It is claimed that Ait-Nouri is "also on Slot's radar" after impressing last season.

The Algeria international is rumoured to have a release clause worth around £38m in his Wolves contract, taking a potential double deal for him and Neto to around £98m.

Slot could be keen to bolster his options at left-back, with Klopp's long-term first-choice Andy Robertson struggling with injuries last season and doubts over Kostas Tsimikas suitability for a regular starting place in the side.
