Liverpool fans have come up with an interesting theory after seeing an image taken from inside Anfield.

Heading into the 24/25 season, the Reds fanbase has been left in limbo over the future of Alexander-Arnold.

The 25-year-old’s contract is set to expire at the end of the campaign and will be allowed to speak to foreign clubs in January.

Over the last few weeks, it has emerged that Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid have made contact to sign Alexander-Arnold.

SPORTBILD’s Christain Falk wrote on social media: “Real Madrid is getting concret with Trent Alexander-Arnold (25).

“Arnold has contract til 2025, no contract extension at Liverpool yet. The Player is interested, there is contact since month.”

However, on Tuesday, an image from inside Anfield has led to some Liverpool fans speculating about whether Alexander-Arnold has signed a new deal.

The image in question shows seats being covered, one fan said on social media: “66 2027?”

Another tweeted: “Great shout!”

A third fan added: “Why would they only extend the contract 2 years?”

Someone else wrote: “Incomplete renovations in the stand.”

A fifth commented: “66 2029. I’m absolutely convinced of it.”

Speaking to The Mirror, Alexander-Arnold revealed his first conversation with Liverpool boss Arne Slot.

He said: “I spoke briefly to him on the phone before the tournament [Euro 2024] started. He respected the fact that I was going to be away on international break so didn’t want to break up any rhythm or speak about club football in that time.

“I respected that. But yeah, it’s an exciting one – a new change, a new start and a new beginning. So I’m excited to get back in and lay the foundations for a good season.”

Liverpool are now preparing for their pre-season of the United States, during which they will take on the likes of Real Betis, Manchester United and Arsenal.
