Former Liverpool head coach Arne Slot is being linked with a shock return to Premier League management just days after being sacked.

Slot parted ways with Liverpool on May 30, having struggled during his second season at Anfield, only managing to guide the Reds to a disappointing fifth-place finish despite winning the Premier League in his maiden campaign.

Former Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola is expected to replace the Dutchman, with reports suggesting a verbal agreement is in place for him to succeed Slot.

Since his departure, Slot, who previously managed Dutch clubs Cambuur, AZ and Feyenoord, has been linked with several high-profile jobs.

In the hours after his sacking, Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri reported that Slot was the leading candidate to take over at AC Milan after Massimo Allegri was sacked following the Serie A side’s fifth-place finish and failure to qualify for the Champions League for a second successive campaign.

Meanwhile, Dutch journalist Marc van de Kraan told talkSPORT’s White and Jordan that Slot is “very much up” for replacing Ronald Koeman as Netherlands head coach after the World Cup.

Could Slot return to the Premier League?

However, Slot has now emerged as a candidate for the now-vacant Fulham job following Marco Silva’s departure, with the Portuguese set to succeed Jose Mourinho at Benfica.

Betfair currently has Slot priced at 10/1 to become the Cottagers' new boss, with ex-Borussia Dortmund head coach Edin Terzic, former Chelsea boss Liam Rosenior, Celtic legend Martin O’Neill and Copenhagen boss Bo Svensson all at the same price.

Getafe head coach Jose Bordalas is priced at 9/1, while Coventry City's Frank Lampard is 7/1.

Former Brentford and Tottenham Hotspur boss Thomas Frank is the second favourite at 3/1, while Ipswich Town’s Kieran McKenna is the clear favourite at 6/4, having guided the Tractor Boys to promotion to the Premier League twice – in 2023/24 and 2025/26.

Slot is also the second favourite to become the next permanent Newcastle United boss, although there is no indication that Eddie Howe’s position is at risk.
