Liverpool receive massive Kylian Mbappe transfer boost as Real Madrid 'rule out move' for three reasons

Liverpool have been handed a huge boost in their ambitious bid to sign Kylian Mbappe.

Over the past few seasons, Liverpool have been one of the many clubs interested in signing France superstar Mbappe.

However, due to the Anfield club’s financial status, they have not been able to lure Mbappe to Merseyside.

This season, it has been widely reported that La Liga giants Real Madrid will be Mbappe’s most likely destination if he decides to leave Paris Saint Germain at the end of the season.

However, according to Spanish news outlet Cadenaser, Madrid have decided against signing Mbappe even if he leaves PSG as a free transfer.

The report claimed that Madrid opted not to sign Mbappe due to three reasons.

Firstly, it is believed that Mbappe’s wage demands are far too high for Madrid’s liking. Also, it has been reported that Madrid want to sign younger players which rules Mbappe out as he will be nearly 26 years old.

Lastly, it has been claimed that after Mbappe’s decision to reject Madrid to stay with PSG has created a negative climate at the club.

Back in August, Klopp was asked about Liverpool’s potential pursuit of Mbappe.

The Reds boss replied: “We laugh about it. I can say that I think he’s a really good player but the financial conditions don’t suit us at all.

“I wouldn’t like to ruin the story now but as far as I know, there’s nothing to it.”

Klopp continued: “It’s possible that someone else from the club is preparing something and wants to surprise me [but] that hasn’t happened in the eight years that I’ve been here. That would be the first time.”

Mbappe has previously revealed he held talks with Liverpool, he said to the Daily Telegraph: “ We talked a little bit, but not too much. I talked to Liverpool because it's the favourite club of my mum, my mum loves Liverpool. I don't know why, you will have to ask her.

“It's a good club and we met them five years ago. When I was in Monaco I met them. It's a big club. Of course, it was between Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain in the end.”
