Despite splashing over £400 million this time last year, Liverpool’s tumultuous season has left Arne Slot’s side in dire need of another expensive rebuild.
The Dutchman in charge has been left clinging on to his job in the dugout following severe unrest in the fan base.
But it seems that with Xabi Alonso’s move to Chelsea, Slot will at least get the transfer window to turn his fortunes around, and will be backed by the chequebook again.
Already, Liverpool have one signing coming into Anfield from France, with his bags packed for nearly a year, and now Slot looks to be raiding another Ligue 1 club in a double coup.
Liverpool reportedly eyeing Monaco pair in £92 raid
As club legend Mohamed Salah leaves a huge hole on the right-hand side of Liverpool’s attack, the club has been scouting suitable replacements to fit Slot’s tactical portfolio.

One name at the top of the list is Maghnes Akliouche, whose 39 goal contributions in 109 games have earned him a £50m price tag.
The winger would become Liverpool’s first-choice wide man, jostling for position with Jeremy Frimpong, who has been deployed in a makeshift position in Salah’s absence, and Harvey Elliott, who returns to the club after a dismal loan stint at Aston Villa.
TeamTalk journalist Graeme Bailey claims that Liverpool currently sit above rivals Manchester United, who are interested in bringing in support for Mbuemo as he flicks between the wide right position and centre forward.
The Reds are also eyeing changes to their midfield, with born-and-raised Liverpudlian Curtis Jones considering a new venture in Italy.

This would free up space for Monaco’s Lamine Camara, who is reported to be the second half of this coup.
The 22-year-old Senegalese has impressed at Monaco after joining from Metz last season, making 71 appearances.
The two Monaco players are reportedly keen on bigger moves after missing out on Champions League qualification, and the speculated combined £92m fee should be low enough for Slot to continue spending.
Liverpool's summer business shouldn't be expected to end there, though, as it's likely that another right-back could be bought - Denzel Dumfries leads the charge there with Liverpool having a large Dutch contingency - and an Andy Robertson replacement will be required.
Slot's business might not be as gung-ho as last year, given the wild fees for Alexander Isak, Florian Wirtz, and Hugo Ekitike, as the budget might force more shrewd signings.
