England captain Harry Kane has reportedly made a decision on his future at Bayern Munich, having been linked with moves to both Manchester United and Barcelona in recent weeks.

Kane is currently in the US with England, with the striker's brace guiding the Three Lions to a 4-2 win over Croatia in their Group L opener on June 17.

The England skipper is now preparing for his side's second fixture against Ghana on June 23, with a victory potentially securing the side's progression to the round of 32 if Panama fail to beat Croatia.

And despite no doubt concentrating on bringing home England's first major international trophy since 1966, Kane has reportedly made a huge decision impacting his future at club level.

The forward has impressed in Germany since arriving at Bayern from Spurs in 2023, netting 146 times in 147 games, with his strikes helping the Bavarians to back-to-back Bundesliga titles and a domestic double last season.

However, there has still been speculation surrounding his future, with previous reports from Mundo Deportivo linking the goalscorer with a shock move to La Liga side Barcelona.

"The club remains determined to sign a world-class centre-forward," the outlet reported in May.

"If necessary, they will lower their standards, but only if it becomes impossible to sign any of their three preferred targets."

Kane, who is contracted to Bayern until 2027, has also been linked with Man Utd, with co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe said to be a huge admirer of the England striker.

Earlier in June, German outlet Kicker reported that there were "differences regarding the conditions and the term of a new contract" during negotiations over a new deal.

The outlet also refused to rule out the possibility of potentially lucrative offers arriving following the World Cup.

On June 19, Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg issued an update on Kane's future and maintained that Bayern are keen for him to remain in Germany beyond his current deal.

On X, he wrote: "After initial talks over a new contract, FC Bayern and Harry Kane have agreed to focus fully on the World Cup for now. Concrete negotiations are set to begin after the tournament. The idea of a new deal until 2029 is on the table. The chances of an extension are currently considered very good. Kane is not in talks with any other club and remains very open to extending his contract with Bayern."

Kane previously had a release clause in his contract worth €65 million (£55.3 million), but it expired in January.

What has Harry Kane said about his future?

Despite previously hinting at a return to the Premier League, in October 2025 Kane performed a U-turn on whether he will someday return to English football.

"In terms of staying longer, I could definitely see that," Kane said. "I have not had those conversations with Bayern yet, but if they were to arise, I would be willing to talk and have an honest conversation. Obviously, it depends on how the next year or so goes and what we achieve together. We are in a fantastic moment and I am not thinking about anything else.

"In terms of the Premier League, I don't know. If you had asked me when I first left to go to Bayern, I would have said for sure I would come back. Now I have been there a couple of years, I would probably say that has gone down a little bit, but I wouldn't say I would never go back."
