Man Utd target switches agents in attempt to 'force through' January transfer to Old Trafford

Man Utd target switches agents in attempt to 'force through' January transfer to Old Trafford

A Manchester United target has switched agents which could help facilitate a move to Old Trafford.

Manchester United target Donyell Malen has switched agents as links regarding a move to Old Trafford continue to swirl.

The 24-year-old forward, who has struggled to find his finest form since arriving at Borussia Dortmund in 2021, has been heavily linked with a move to United over recent weeks, as Erik ten Hag looks to bolster the attacking options within his squad.

The rumours have only intensified given the public fall-out with England international Jadon Sancho in recent weeks, with the player currently being exiled from the first team squad as he trains at Carrington alone.

With United's interest in Malen still apparent and Sancho's future at the club looking bleak, a possible swap deal in the coming months could materialise for the player, who secured a £73million move from the German club to the Red Devils just two-and-a-half years after leaving.

According to the Daily Mail, a swap deal is a real possibility for the club, as they look to bring Malen in as a direct replacement for the disgruntled winger, who hasn't made an appearance for United since being left out of the match-day squad to face Arsenal.

Malen has recently switched agents to join Sports Entertain Group (SEG), which is run by Ten Hag's agent Kees Vos.

The agency has facilitated a number of transfers for United in recent windows, with United striker Rasmus Hojlund being one of their main clients. Malen's switch to the agency possibly being an attempt to force through a move to Old Trafford.

However, Sancho's future at the club could be reconsidering if Ten Hag is relieved of his duties as United boss in the near future, as well as the possible arrival of Oldham-born billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe as a minority investor. Casting doubt over a possible deal for Malen, with the club likely being limited by Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations after a heavy summer of spending.

Despite the ongoing need for further reinforcements, Ten Hag's attention must turn to their upcoming opponents in the immediate future, as he prepares his side to face Bayern Munich, West Ham United, Liverpool and Aston Villa.
