Cristiano Ronaldo Jr could be snapped up by one of the top football clubs in Europe before he gets a chance to play alongside his father.
Ronaldo Sr will aim to score in a sixth consecutive World Cup when Portugal get underway in the United States, Canada and Mexico in June.
The five-time Ballon d'Or winner is still going strong at 41 years of age and his unusual longevity has enabled the possibility of becoming one of the few top-level professional footballers to have taken the field with their sons.
Ronaldo the younger, now 15, has been able to follow his dad to learn his trade in the academy set-ups at Manchester United and Juventus, and is now a youth team player for Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr, whose first team is captained by the most-capped men's footballer of all time.

As Ronaldo Jr reaches first team age at the same club where his old man is now part of the furniture, the prospect of Al-Nassr naming a pair of Cristianos Ronaldo in the same line-up is coming into view.
The 41-year-old is showing no inclination to retire from football, so it seems the more likely obstacle to this moment of history is Ronaldo Jr leaving Saudi Arabia in the summer transfer window.
According to reports in Europe, the teenager is enough of a talent to have attracted significant interest from some of the continents biggest and most competitive clubs.
"Ronaldo Jr wants to play on Europe’s biggest stage, with Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain all circling," reports The Sun.
"The youngster has his heart set on returning to the UK or Madrid, but his family is wary of the crushing media spotlight that will naturally try to compare him to his dad."
He was spotted in training with Real Madrid in March, joining the club's under-16s while his father was in the city for treatment on an injury.
Borussia Dortmund and Sporting CP, where Ronaldo started his playing career, are also reportedly keeping tabs on his son.
Being Cristiano Ronaldo II is a double-edged sword
Junior is the oldest of Ronaldo's five children and has followed in his dad's footsteps at a couple of the biggest clubs in the world.
The shadow he's stepping into as he embarks on his senior career is intimidating to say the least.
Ronaldo Sr is most-capped player and top scorer both in international football history and the Champions League, and the only player to score in five World Cups.
He has scored 970 professional goals in a career spanning a quarter of a century.
