Zlatan Ibrahimovic was very positive about his experience in Qatar after being quizzed by a journalist.

During the build up to the 2022 World Cup, host nation Qatar came under heavy criticism due to the country’s human rights records.

Although he was not part of the World Cup as a player due to Sweden failing to qualify, Ibrahimovic was in attendance for the final.

The AC Milan star was a guest for the showdown between France and Argentina along with tennis great Novak Djokovic.

During last week’s press conference, Ibrahimovic was asked about his trip to Qatar.

The 41-year-old said: “It was fantastic. As awesome as it gets. I was there for two days with the family.”

Ibrahimovic then started to rate different aspects of his experience, he continued: “The organisation: 10 points. The experience: 10 points. The match: 10 points. Crowd: 10 points. The food: 10 points. The journey: 10 points. Everything was 10 points.

“Qatar as a country, I think it is a system that works. Are there drugs? No. Is there crime? No. Is there crime in Sweden? Yes, very much. Drugs? Yes.

“Qatar's system works. The Swedish system? It works, but if it works 100 per cent, I don't know.”

He then proceeded to give Qatar an overall score of “10 points”.

During a separate interview with Swedish media outlet SVT, Ibrahimovic added: “I think they have given opportunities to get a job.

“Then how they treated them, I haven't been there and seen, so I can't judge and answer those questions.”

Despite being in the Sweden squad, he was unable to partake in the team’s matches during the international break.

Manager Janne Andersson said: “He has a problem that forces him to miss the match. It’s very sad for him and for us. This is the situation, unfortunately.”

Ibrahimovic will now return to AC Milan as they begin their preparations for a blockbuster Serie A clash with Napoli this weekend.
