Sergio Ramos picks up yellow card then straight red in 30 seconds, it's his 28th career red card

Sergio Ramos was sent off against Reims.

Sergio Ramos was sent off for Paris Saint-Germain against Reims, resulting in the 28th red card of his legendary career.

Ramos received his marching orders four minutes before the break of his side's league match on Saturday.

The Spaniard committed a foul that saw him pick up a yellow card. But within seconds, he was shown a straight red card.

After giving away a foul, the 36-year-old remonstrated with the match referee and got in his face in a fiery moment.

The official wasted no time in brandishing the red card following Ramos' angry reaction.

Incredibly, it's the 28th red card of his storied career.

Marco Verratti was shown a yellow card for his protestations.

Needless to say, Ramos' red card sent social media wild.

One Twitter user joked: "Football Heritage."

A second wrote: "Sergio Ramos gets a red card. Imagine my shock."

A third added: "Imagine getting sent off 28 times in your career!"

Ramos' red card was the main talking point of the Ligue 1 meeting as Reims and PSG played out a goalless draw.

But it wasn't just Ramos who lost his cool as Neymar and Kylian Mbappe picked up cautions late on.

The Brazilian was yellow carded for barging an opponent while the Frenchman got booked for a rash challenge.

PSG remain unbeaten in the league and at the top of the league, three points ahead of Marseille who they play next weekend.

The Le Classique takes place next Sunday in a top of the table clash.
