Spain legend Sergio Ramos could finally join the Premier League club his dad supports.
Earlier in the week, Ramos, 39, confirmed his departure from Mexican side Monterrey.
Taking to social media, the defender wrote: "Saying goodbye is never easy. A chapter that began full of hope in February is coming to an end, a chapter that allowed me to discover a country, a city, a style of football... and that leaves me with many new experiences and, above all, many friends.
"To the club, to my dear teammates, to the coaching staff, to the employees, to everyone, thank you. And, above all, thank you to you, the fans, who have shown me your warmth and affection from the very first moment I set foot in the city. I will always remember this stage of my career fondly, and I will always proudly say, '¡Arriba el Monterrey!'"

Since leaving the Mexican side, it has been claimed that Ramos has no plans to retire just yet and will assess his options.
According to Cadena SER, relayed by Fichajes, the former Paris Saint Germain and Real Madrid star has received an offer to join Manchester United at the start of 2026.
The report claims that although United are frontrunners to sign Ramos, there are still looming doubts about whether the deal will be completed.
Earlier in his career, Ramos claimed that he was close to joining United and revealed that his dad is a big fan of the Old Trafford club.
As per The Sun, Ramos said: "Yes, I was close to playing for United. My father is a great fan of that team, but I stayed where I should, Real Madrid.
"Despite everything, I maintain my admiration for the club, for the Premier League and for its players, because the pace of play is different, and it is a league from which we can all learn a lot. I was happy to stay in Madrid."

During his time with Madrid, Ramos made 671 appearances across all competitions, scoring 101 goals.
The Spaniard lifted five La Liga titles and four Champions Leagues, among other trophies.
Ramos also won two Euros and one World Cup with Spain.
