Paul Scholes pulled no punches as he ripped into Antony and Jadon Sancho following Manchester United's Europa League scare against Omonia Nicosia.

The Red Devils narrowly saw off Cypriot minnows Omonia on Thursday as they came from a goal down to secure three points.

Karim Ansarifard opened the scoring in the 34th minute and led at the break.

However, Erik ten Hag's team hit back with three second-half goals. Marcus Rashford bagged a brace after coming off the bench while Anthony Martial also got on the score-sheet.

Ten Hag said in his post-match interview that his side were 'too static' in the first-half, with Scholes agreeing and highlighting the performances of Antony and Sancho.

"He was right about the wingers being static," he said on BT Sport.

"Sancho never really runs in behind. He needs a fast left-back really or a centre forward to link up with and he hasn’t really got that at the moment."

On Antony, the Man United legend branded him a 'one-trick pony'.

He added: "Antony on the other side as well, he doesn’t run in behind. He seems to be a bit of a one-trick pony.

"He’s always cutting inside and either passing back to the full-back or having a shot. You’re thinking he needs to develop a little bit. It’s still early days for him, we know that."

Antony has shown glimpses of his potential following his mega summer move from Ajax.

He scored on his debut against Arsenal and netted in his side's crushing 6-3 defeat to Manchester City last weekend.

Sancho, on the other hand, has looked impressive under Ten Hag this season, bagging three goals in all competitions.

But Scholes has concerns over the pair of forwards as Man United resume their Premier League campaign on Sunday against Everton.

Is Scholes' assessment of Antony and Sancho fair? Let us know what you think.
