Bukayo Saka contract announcement 'imminent' as Arsenal star spotted at Emirates for 'special media shoot'

It's a huge boost for Arsenal.

Bukayo Saka’s contract announcement is thought to be imminent after the player was spotted at the Emirates taking part in a “special media shoot”.

While Arsenal fell short of claiming their first Premier League title in 19 years this term, it has been a stellar season for the Gunners.

Indeed, Saka’s partnership with Gabriel Martinelli in particular has been a huge factor in Arsenal qualifying for Champions League football for the first time since the 2016/17 campaign.

Having already tied down Martinelli and Aaron Ramsdale to fresh deals during the season, Arsenal have been in negotiations with Saka for several months over extending his stay at the Emirates.

Saka – whose current deal runs until 2024 – has been in brilliant form for Mikel Arteta’s side, scoring 14 goals and registering 11 assists across all competitions.

And it appears negotiations have now reached a positive conclusion. Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano tweeted on Tuesday: “Understand Bukayo Saka has signed the new long-term contract with Arsenal, done and sealed. A huge one for the Gunners after the verbal agreement reached in February.

“Official announcement, next formal step expected very soon. Here we go, confirmed.”

Saka’s Arsenal contract announcement

According to Arsenal Informer, Saka and club legend Ian Wright were both at the Emirates on Monday for a “special media shoot”.

Promotional footage for Saka’s new contract has allegedly been shot, and the release is expected to coincide with the official announcement of the new deal. The official announcement is said to be “imminent”.

Arsenal Insider also claimed that the England international is set to sign a five-year deal, that represents a significant elevation in the Hale End graduate's standing at the club.

Furthermore, Saka’s new deal will allegedly see him earn a staggering £300,000, which translates to an annual salary of £15.6million.
