RB Leipzig defender Lukas Klostermann has stated Liverpool are 'one of the best teams in Europe' ahead of their pre-season friendly this evening.

The game, held at the Red Bull Arena, kicks off at 6.15PM UK time and both sides will be looking for a victory to build momentum ahead of the new season.

Speaking to Leipziger Volkszeitung, Klostermann said: “I think Liverpool have one of the best teams in Europe."

"There are five or six teams at the top that are of the same level, and only nuances decide."

"We can look forward to a great game, also to see where we are at the moment.”

Klostermann also revealed his admiration for Jurgen Klopp, saying:

“He conveys a lot of emotion. I think that can give a team that certain kick."

"But we also have a coach who puts his heart and soul into it and also shows his emotions during the game. I think that’s great."

"That can tickle out the last percentages in a team.”

Klostermann and Leipzig will no doubt be hoping to do better against Liverpool than they did last time the two sides came head to head.

The last clash came in the Champions League Round Of 16 in 2021. The Reds won both legs 2-0 and went on to face Real Madrid in the quarter finals.

Fans in the UK can watch the game live this evening on LFCTV and LFCTV GO, and in Germany the fixture will be available to watch on Servus TV.
