Man City aim shameless dig at Liverpool with Sky Sports pundits left in stitches

The Sky Sports broadcasting team, which included Roy Keane, Jamie Carragher, Micah Richards and Daniel Sturridge, were visibly amused.

Sky Sports' broadcasting team saw the funny side of a ‘dig’ Man City aimed at Liverpool following the Reds' 2-0 win at the Etihad on Sunday.

Mo Salah scored and assisted his teammate Dominik Szoboszlai in what proved to be a relatively routine victory for Liverpool against Pep Guardiola’s side.

Salah, 32, captured the plaudits of many with his performance and even set six new records during his showing at Man City.

Arne Slot’s side came away from the Etihad with three points after the 2-0 win, which saw them go 11 points clear of second-placed Arsenal at the top of the Premier League.

"It is incredible [winning at Man City],” Salah told Sky Sports after the match.

“It is a very hard place to come and play here. They are a tough team, and they have an incredible manager. I am glad in the end we won the game. It is special. Especially when you are in the title race, it is incredible.

"Hopefully, we keep calm because sometimes the pressure gets to us. We try to win each game."

And despite Salah’s respectful words about City. The Premier League champions could not help but remind Liverpool of their previous successes to the amusement of Sky Sports’ broadcast team, which included Jamie Carragher, Roy Keane, Micah Richards, Daniel Sturridge and presenter Dave Jones.

“Manchester City are just reminding everyone here, if you just look behind you on the little screen there,” said Jones before the rest of the panel turned their heads towards the electronic screen inside the Etihad.

The group were amused by what they saw. On the screen, the words ‘Champions 4 In-A-Row’ could be seen with the years in which City have won the last four Premier League titles.

Fans were quick to give their thoughts on social media.

One said: "Thanks for the reminder. We all kinda forgot about it. Lmao not relevant enough."

Another added: "Manchester City are so petty man. One Champions League in their existence."

While a third commented: "You can’t compete with such a team; though credit to Manchester City for their achievements in the past decade."
