A former Premier League player wants to join the Wrexham bandwagon, after offering to come out of retirement and play for the team for free,

Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mcelhenney can barely cough at the moment without a sport outlet with a green logo covering it right now.

Yes, we've very much been taken in by the hype around the National League's top team, as they attempt to get back in to the Football League.

Fronted by the two Hollywood stars, it's difficult to get away from news about the Welsh team at the moment, and it doesn't seem like any of us want to.

Everyone wants be around Wrexham, with even Ben Foster coming out of retirement, having turned down a move to Newcastle United, in order to sign for the club.

After beating Yeovil Town on Tuesday night, the team are now just three points away from gaining the one automatic promotion spot into League Two.

A win against Boreham Wood on Saturday would do the trick, and if not they have a game with Torquay United the following Saturday.

Should that happen then another former Premier League player may be grabbing their boots from the hanger, to come out of retirement, to play at the Racecourse Ground.

That's because Hal Robson-Kanu replied to a post on Reynolds' Instagram with the offer, saying, "I'll come out of retirement and come and play for Wrexham next season. I'll also give my salary to the charity of the fans choosing."

The 33-year-old former forward had spells in England's top tier with both Reading and West Bromwich Albion, retiring in 2021 after leaving the latter and not being able to find a new club.

His most famous moment no doubt came in a Wales shirt, scoring in the quarter final win over Belgium at Euro 2016, with an iconic goal.

The London born star turned three Belgium defenders with a Cruyff turn, before firing the ball home, which got him nominated for that year's Puskas Award.
