Official AQA Psychology Textbook Says Some Manchester United Fans ‘Do Not Have A Brain'

An AQA psychology textbook has gone viral after someone spotted a cheeky reference about Manchester United in one of its sections.

On page 34 of the A-Level student revision book, a chapter detailing facts about the central nervous system (CNS) states that only a few living creatures are born without a brain, including sponges, sea squirts and jellyfish.

The book, written by renowned authors Cara Flanagan, Dave Berry, Matt Jarvis and Rob Liddle in 2016, goes on to claim that 'some Manchester United fans' do also not have a brain.

Here is how the section reads in full:

"The brain is the centre of all concious awareness. The brain's outer layer, the cerebral cortex, is highly developed in humans and is what distinguishes our higher mental functions from those of animals.

"Only a few living creatures -- sponges, sea squirts, jellyfish and some Manchester United fans -- do not have a brain. The brain is divided into two hemispheres."

As you can imagine, the section has picked up plenty of traction on social media.

On the subject of Manchester United fans, one student failed his French exam by a single mark after he named Cristiano Ronaldo alongside a picture of a goat.

Ahmed Nabil, 15, was presented with a variety of different animals in the paper but rather than write down a 'sensible' answer, he included a certain five-time Ballon d'Or winner in his work.

"It was a French exam I did two years ago," he told SPORTbible.

"For me personally, it was a very hard test and one of the sections was: write the meaning of every animal we show you but in french.

"I couldn't remember what a goat was called in french, so I thought I'd do something creative and make a couple of my mates laugh instead of just leaving it empty."

United fan Nabil believes Ronaldo is the GOAT, although he does admit a hint of bias.

"If anyone asks me who I think is the goat is, I'll tell him them Ronaldo but deep down I'm not that sure." he told us.

"Sometimes I think that Messi is better but because of my bias, the former United player is the greatest."
