Manchester United fans have spotted a worrying trend that keeps costing them and they think Erik ten Hag is to blame.

On Sunday Man United appeared to be cruising into the FA Cup final for a second successive year as they led Coventry City 3-0 in their semi-final at Wembley.

Yet against all odds, the Championship side produced a stunning comeback to send the match to extra-time.

Ellis Simms pulled a goal back with 19 minutes left to play, before Callum O'Hare's deflected strike closed the deficit to one.

United were hanging on by the end and paid the price for their passiveness as Coventry were awarded a 95th minute penalty after Aaron Wan-Bissaka handled inside the box.

Haji Wright converted with ease to send the Coventry fans into a state of delirium and the match to extra-time.

Mark Robins' side thought they'd pulled off one of the greatest comebacks in FA Cup history when Victor Torp scored in the 121st minute, but VAR chalked off his effort for offside.

United went on to win the penalty shootout 4-2, but their fans couldn't believe how their side capitulated. Many blamed manager Erik ten Hag for one particular decision he made.

Winger Alejandro Garnacho was substituted in the 66th minute for Antony when United were leading 3-0, the third match this month in which he has been withdrawn with his side ahead.

The 19-year-old was brought off against Chelsea with his side leading 3-2, but Cole Palmer scored twice in injury-time to earn Chelsea a 4-3 win.

A few days later, Garnacho was substituted with United 2-1 up against Liverpool, and the match ended up finishing 2-2.

On X, one United fan described Ten Hag's decision to keep substituting Garnacho as "an absolute joke."

Another frustrated supporter commented: "Ten Hag doesn’t have the balls to take [Marcus] Rashford off. So he sacrifices Garnacho. Ten Hag is same as Ole [Gunnar-Solskjaer]. This Club is broken."

Garnacho's performances, while inconsistent, have been one of few positives at Old Trafford this season.

The Argentine has scored nine goals and provided four assists in 42 games in all competitions this season.
