Antony was slammed for his "shameless" act after Manchester United beat Coventry City in the FA Cup semi-final.

On Sunday Man United appeared to be cruising into the FA Cup final for a second successive year as they led Coventry City 3-0 at Wembley.

Yet against all odds, the Championship side produced a stunning comeback to send the match to extra-time.

Ellis Simms pulled a goal back 19 minutes before full-time, before Callum O'Hare's deflected strike closed the deficit to one.

Haji Wright completed the fight-back by converting a controversial penalty in the fifth minute of injury-time, sending the Coventry fans into a state of delirium and the match to extra-time.

That wasn't the end of the drama though. Mark Robins' side thought they'd pulled off one of the greatest comebacks in FA Cup history when Victor Torp finished past Andre Onana in the 121st minute, but VAR ruled out his effort for a marginal offside.

That match went the distance to penalties, with United winning 4-2 despite Casemiro missing his side's first spot-kick.

Onana saved from Callum O'Hare before Ben Sheaf blazed his attempt over the crossbar.

That left Rasmus Hojlund with the chance to secure United's place in the final against Manchester City, and he made no mistake.

The moment Hojlund's penalty hit the back of the net, most of United's stars showed a touch of class by immediately consoling their crestfallen opponents.

However, the same cannot be said of Antony. The Brazilian has failed to make his mark at Old Trafford since his £86 million move from Ajax two years ago, yet he chose to goad the Coventry fans after his side avoided an embarrassing defeat.

According to Manchester Evening News journalist Tyrone Marshall, Antony cupped his ears to the Coventry fans and players.

In stark contrast, United defender Harry Maguire immediately shook hands with all of the Coventry players.

Journalist Sean Walsh described Antony's actions as "One of the most shameless acts I've ever seen."

Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, Clinton Morrison said: "He [Antony] needs to concentrate on himself because he could be playing the Championship next season..."
