Brentford fans aimed a brutal chant at Kurt Zouma after he hobbled off injured in West Ham's defeat on Sunday.

Zouma lasted just 29 minutes before picking up an ankle injury that forced him off, with David Moyes replacing him with Issa Diop.

As the West Ham physios treated the Frenchman, Brentford supporters unleashed a savage chant.

The home crowd sang: "Put him down, put him down, put him down!"

Of course, the chant is in reference to the defender attacking his own cat in an incident that saw him widely criticised.

A shocking video of the player kicking and slapping his cat in his home emerged online, with the 27-year-old fined and punished by the club.

Meanwhile, Moyes could be without Zouma for Thursday's Europa League second leg clash with Lyon.

On Zouma, the West Ham boss said: "Kurt has twisted his ankle. We don't know how bad it is.

"We'll get him checked but I've not gotten a chance to speak to the medical team yet. Coming off is not a good sign but hopefully it's not too bad."

Moyes also touched on the performance his team delivered, describing his side's showing as 'really shoddy'.

He said: "Disappointing. It was really, really shoddy from our point of view."

The Hammers remain in sixth place as a result of Manchester United's defeat at Everton.

They have 51 points on the board and have six league games remaining as the race for Champions League qualification hots up.
