Middlesbrough fans spot embarrassing error in job advert for club 'therapist'

Middlesbrough fans spot embarrassing error in job advert for club 'therapist'

Middlesbrough supporters took to social media to point out an embarrassing typing error in a job advert to be a club therapist.

A job advertisement sharing a new opportunity at Middlesbrough went embarrassingly wrong earlier this week as a minor typing error made a significant difference to what was actually being advertised.

The Championship club were showcasing that they were looking to hire a new therapist but had left a space in the word 'therapist', making it appear to be a completely different proposition.

Boro fan Lisa Nicole noticed the error and took to social media to point it out, with the mobile formatting of the website leaving an unintentional space.

Her caption read: "Oh dear, this is where spaces after / come in handy."

Fellow fans were just as shocked in the comments section, with one tagging the club and saying: "Fix it please."

The error has since been fixed as a click on the job role now opens up a full PDF of the advert, not showing the blunder that left fans embarrassed.

The north-east outfit are amongst the bookies' favourites for promotion from the Championship after an impressive campaign under Michael Carrick last term that ended in heartbreak as Boro lost their home second leg of the play-off semi-final against Coventry City 1-0. The Sky Blues were then beaten on penalties by Luton Town in the final at Wembley.

Middlesbrough will have the opportunity to get slight revenge early on in the season with a trip to Coventry their second league game of the new campaign.

Although a first top-flight appearance since 2016/17 is the goal, it will be an incredibly tough task for Carrick's men this season with the Championship looking as tough as ever following the relegation of Leicester City, Leeds United and Southampton from the Premier League as well as the promotion of Plymouth Argyle, Ipswich Town and Sheffield Wednesday from League One.

Boro start the season at home to Millwall followed up by their fourth match against Coventry in their last five Championship matches. A home game against Huddersfield Town and a trip to West Bromwich Albion conclude August.
