Michael Keane scores thunderbolt moments after Lucas Moura is sent off for horror challenge on the Everton man

A remarkable strike from the Everton defender.

Everton defender Michael Keane scored an incredible equaliser to salvage a point for his side against Tottenham - just moments after avoiding serious injury in a horror challenge.

Everton came from behind to draw 1-1 with Tottenham at Goodison Park in a match packed with drama.

The home side were reduced to 10 men midway through the second half when Abdoulaye Doucoure was sent off for pushing Tottenham striker Harry Kane in the face.

Spurs then took the lead from the penalty spot after Cristian Romero was fouled, with Kane stepping up to score his 22nd Premier League goal of the season.

Despite having a goal and man advantage, Tottenham allowed Everton a route back into the match.

Things were made more difficult for the visitors when Lucas Moura was sent off for a horror challenge on Keane, with referee David Coote showing his second straight red card of the match.

And just moments later, Keane made himself a hero - firing in an unstoppable finish from 25 yards out to spark wild scenes in the home support.

Both sides pushed hard for a winner in the final moments but the game ended level, a result which will satisfy Everton more than Tottenham.

When asked to give his reaction to his winner post-match, Keane told Sky Sports: "Buzzing to be honest.

"You won't believe me but every now and again I hit the ball like that in training. My teammates have been waiting for it so to do it in a game is nice.

"To see one come off is amazing. After I gave the penalty away, I was just buzzing to make up for it."

Spurs miss the chance to go third in the table but are now fourth - behind Newcastle on goal difference but ahead of Manchester United.

Everton, meanwhile, move up to 15th but are only one point outside of the relegation places.
