Micah Richards tried to speak Italian to Romelu Lukaku and it was comedy gold

Micah Richards tried his hand at Italian in a post-match chat with Romelu Lukaku after Inter Milan reached the Champions League final.

Micah Richards attempted to speak to Italian to Romelu Lukaku and served up utter hilarity after Inter Milan reached the Champions League final.

Lukaku came off the bench to assist strike partner Lautaro Martinez, who confirmed the trip to Istanbul with a solitary goal after Inter beat rivals AC Milan 2-0 in the first leg.

The Belgian, on loan from Chelsea, was whisked in for a long post-match chat with CBS Sports. After sharing a passionate embrace with his former coach Thierry Henry, attention turned to the number of languages Lukaku can speak.

Host Kate Abdo's linguistic skills are impressive but Lukaku could be the most multilingual footballer in the world. He speaks SEVEN different languages fluently, so much so that they don't all fit in the box on the UEFA document journalists receive.

He picked up Italian and was doing interviews in the language straight away after signing for Inter.

Former Manchester City defender Richards had a brief spell on loan at Fiorentina and showed off his Italian by attempting to translating a Lukaku interview in February.

With CBS pitchside at the San Siro, Richards tried to show off to Lukaku, who said a sentence in perfect Italian but could only get a "Scusi?" from the former England right-back.

Lukaku and Henry both briefly walked off the set in hysterics, before the ex Manchester United man told Richards, "You need to come back Italy more over the summer, man".

Richards once got a "Grade C" for his Italian from CBS Serie A analyst Matteo Bonetti but we reckon Lukaku's mark was a lot lower than that.

Richards played 19 times for Fiorentina but tried to blag that he played at the San Siro on Tuesday night's broadcast.

He had in fact only been an unused substitute in two fixtures at the iconic ground, with Henry and Jamie Carragher losing it as footage of Richards' miscontrolled touch in the warm-up was played.

But the most noteworthy moment on the entertaining CBS coverage came when Abdo was forced to apologise after forgetting the broadcaster she works for live on air.

She said Fox Sports instead of CBS and Henry jokingly placed his microphone on the desk and strolled off into the sunset.
