PSG stars handed brutal L'Equipe ratings after Champions League elimination to Bayern Munich

Paris Saint-Germain stars were savaged by L'Equipe as they delivered brutal ratings for the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi.

PSG were dumped out of the Champions League following their 3-0 aggregate defeat to Bayern on Wednesday.

The French giants went into the second-leg clash in Germany one-nil down following their home defeat last month.

And they failed to turn the tie around as Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Serge Gnabry sealed a 2-0 win on the night.

PSG couldn't get going as Mbappe and Messi were unable to influence the match, with L'Equipe not holding back on their player ratings.

The notoriously harsh French outlet handed out a ruthless 3/10 rating for both Mbappe and Messi.

On the 35-year-old's performance against Bayern, L'Equipe wrote: "Messi [His performance] is too little and is very disappointing in a match of this importance. He was very disappointing."

Columnist Vincent Duluc wrote: "At PSG, when it comes to the knockout stages of the Champions League, defeat is a culture."

Another columnist added: "PSG never really gave the impression of being able to reverse the result in Munich.

"Messi and Mbappe were completely muzzled, and PSG have once again become an ordinary team, outclassed by Bayern Munich."

It's another season without the coveted Champions League for PSG, but Christophe Galtier is adamant that he will see out of the rest of the campaign despite failing to bring European success.

"It's really too early to talk about it. My future obviously depends on my sports management and my president," he said. "There is a disappointment, that's how it is.

"The club pinned a lot of hopes on this competition. I'm staying the course, I'm still focused on the end of the season with a lot of energy and determination."
