Manchester City won't organise an open-top bus celebration in Manchester next week should they beat city-rivals Manchester United in the FA Cup final this afternoon.

The two Manchester clubs will face each other in the FA Cup final for the first time ever at Wembley with both City and United already clinching at least one trophy this season.

United lifted the League Cup back in February after beating Newcastle United 2-0 whilst City were crowned Premier League champions for the third consecutive season.

Additionally, Pep Guardiola's men have a Champions League final against Inter Milan to contest next Saturday after their clash with United.

The Cityzens are targeting a famous treble and have never lifted European football's greatest prize having fallen short to Chelsea in the 2021 final.

It is because there is still one more competitive fixture in City's schedule that the blue part of Manchester won't participate in any celebrations next week should they lift the FA Cup for a seventh time and their second under Guardiola.

Should City beat Inter next weekend, Monday 12 June has been pencilled in by the club to hold an open-top bus celebration which would celebrate at least two titles won by Guardiola's men this term.

However, the Spaniard will have the final say on whether such celebrations will be organised as a shock defeat to the Italian outfit in Istanbul could prompt him to allow players to go on holiday immediately.

On the other side of Manchester, should United lift the FA Cup for a 13th time, it has already been decided by manager Erik ten Hag that a parade won't be arranged with the Dutchman already deciding to send his players on holiday straight after the final.

Having led the Red Devils to their first piece of major silverware in almost six years earlier this year as well as guiding the club back into the Champions League at the first attempt, it has already been a successful maiden campaign in England for the 53-year-old who could go one step further with adding a second trophy to the cabinet.
