Manchester City have a deal in place to sign Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund this summer, according to reports.

Haaland is one of the most sought-after players in world football, with Real Madrid, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain also interested in signing the 21-year-old striker.

The Daily Mail claim that Haaland is set to join City, with sources close to the deal in Germany saying the striker will push for a move to the Etihad.

Personal terms are said to have been discussed with the Norway international’s representatives and the framework of the transfer is now ready to be agreed with City.

Haaland has a £63m release clause in his contract at Dortmund, while the entire deal could cost around £100m once agents' fees and a signing-on bonus are taken into account.

The financial outlay is said to be 'affordable' for City, who have made signing Haaland their number one priority in the summer window.

City boss Pep Guardiola has repeatedly stressed the need for the club to sign a new striker following Sergio Aguero’s departure at the end of last season.

City attempted to sign Tottenham star Harry Kane in the summer window but had a £127m bid rejected by their Premier League rivals.

Haaland’s father, Alf-Inge, had a three-year spell at City during his playing days and the family is said to still share an affinity with the club.

There is now a growing feeling across Europe that Haaland will choose to move to the Premier League leaders.

Haaland is currently sidelined but is nearing a return to first-team football after suffering a muscle injury in January.

He has scored an incredible 80 goals in 79 games for Dortmund since joining the German club from Red Bull Salzburg in 2020.
