Italian journalist Gianluca di Marzio has revealed the price Manchester United must pay to land Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.

Manchester United head into the international break in third place in the Premier League, 19 points adrift of league leaders Arsenal.

However, Erik ten Hag is already plotting for next season, with the Dutchman eager to add a top class striker to his ranks.

Among those linked with a move to Old Trafford is Osimhen, who has been a driving force behind Napoli's extraordinary title charge this season.

The 24-year-old is currently the joint second top-scorer in Europe alongside Harry Kane, who has also been linked with a move to the Red Devils.

Although Di Marzio has since claimed that Osimhen is the club's "top priority" ahead of the Tottenham striker.

Man Utd favourites to sign Osimhen

Di Marzio has admitted United are in pole position to sign Osimhen, in front of Paris Saint-Germain.

He told Kalbet: “Man United's main target is definitely Osimhen and he has been that for at least two seasons. He is an excellent player and very unique with his skills.

“The situation around Harry Kane is a bit weird. Obviously, Man United will try to get him if they are not getting Osimhen, who is their top priority.”

“I think that Osimhen could leave Napoli and Paris Saint-Germain could be a possibility for him. But Manchester United are probably the favourites to get him.”

Di Marzio also lifted the lid on how much United would need to splash in order to sign the Nigerian.

Multiple reports have suggested that Napoli would demand at least €150 million (£132m) for Osimhen.

However, Di Marzio reckons Ten Hag could get him at a cut price, insisting they would be able to afford the striker.

“I think that Napoli will let Osimhen go for between €130-150 million," he added. "Manchester United can afford that.”
