Another striker has been added to the long list of Manchester United targets for the January transfer window in the aftermath of Cristiano Ronaldo's departure.

Earlier this week it was announced by United that the club and Ronaldo had agreed to terminate the Portuguese striker's contract after his explosive interview with Piers Morgan.

Ronaldo is now a free agent and has all of his focus on the World Cup with Portugal but United are in desperate need of a forward.

With that Ronaldo news comes a lot of rumours and links connecting strikers from around the world to Erik ten Hag's side.

Who have United been linked to?

The latest report is from Sky Sports' Florian Plettenberg, who tweeted: "Within the club it still has to be decided which profile will be transferred in winter. A striker is wanted. But it is unclear whether an expensive top star will be brought in now, or whether a backup solution for 6 months."

He then added: "News #David: Another candidate of #MUFC is the 22 y/o Canadian striker. He was scouted several times and he wants to make the next step. We‘ve been told that Lille would release him in winter for around €50m transfer fee."

David has enjoyed a fine start to Ligue 1 this season and has travelled to Qatar for the World Cup for Canada.

He has made 15 appearances in the league scoring nine goals and contributing three assists this season.
