Luis Suarez's 13/14 season is the best in Premier League history and the highlights are sensational

Suarez was on another level.

Highlights of Luis Suarez's sensational 2013/2014 season with Liverpool have emerged and he was genuinely unplayable.

The Uruguay international scored a whopping 31 goals in 33 games as Brendan Rodgers' side came agonisingly close to winning the title.

Suarez played like a man on a mission at points, single-handedly carrying the Reds to victory in a number of crucial games.

He rinsed some of the best defenders in the league for fun and struck up a sensational partnership with Daniel Sturridge.

'SAS' are one of the best modern day strike partnerships and Suarez was an all-rounder, scoring and setting up Sturridge too.

Standout performances include a four-goal haul against Norwich City in the December and a 5-0 dismantling of Tottenham Hotspur, with Suarez scoring two times and registering two assists.

Despite Liverpool's failure to win the title, Suarez still won a slew of individual awards for his exploits.

Suarez picked up the Golden Boot award in addition to being named PFA Player of the Year and Premier League Player of the Season.

He left Liverpool at the end of the season to join Barcelona and it rocked the whole of Anfield to its core.

Liverpool would fall from second to sixth in 14/15 and it took five years for a serious title challenge to be mounted again.

Fans have reacted to the video and they agree it could be one of the best individual campaigns in England football history.

One person said: "We don't talk about this man enough, never seen anyone like him."

Another commented: "He could be the greatest foreign player to ever play for Liverpool."

A third put: "Never enjoyed watching a player more in nearly 40 years of following the Reds."

While someone tweeted: "How can anyone ever call this guy overrated, quite simply the finest striker of this generation."

Interestingly, Liverpool have turned to another Uruguayan sensation this summer in the form of Darwin Nunez.

The 22-year-old will naturally be compared to Suarez, but he has backed his fellow countryman to write his own story.

"He (Nunez) will write his own story at Liverpool," Suarez explained to the Daily Mirror. "He is Uruguayan and he is a forward but that is where the comparisons stop – he is a special player and doesn’t need to be compared with anybody.

"He is going to a great club with one of the best coaches in the world, players he can learn off, and of course those special fans.

"I can be there to offer him advice about England and about the style of play – but I don’t think he will need it – he will let his talent do the talking."
