Alexis Mac Allister's father says his son will 'most likely' move clubs amid interest from Liverpool and Manchester United.

Jurgen Klopp is in dire need of midfield rejuvenation following a dismal campaign in Merseyside which has seen his side slip to eighth place in the Premier League table, some 12 points off the top four.

The Reds boss will be praying for a miracle as he attempts to navigate the last nine games of the season, but the German will be secretly itching for the transfer window, when he will have the chance to reinvest in his ageing squad.

Meanwhile, Erik ten Hag is hunting further midfield recruits, having struggled in the absence of Casemiro and Christian Eriksen this term.

Mac Allister has been the subject of interest from both clubs, as well as Chelsea, who have all approached the player's camp over a potential deal this summer, reports Fabrizio Romano.

Now, in a major blow for the Seagulls, the 24-year-old's father has lifted the lid on the midfielder's next step in his career.

Mac Allister set to leave Brighton

Speaking to Argentinian publication Puro Boca, Carlos Mac Allister revealed his son is likely to move on to pastures new in the summer, suggesting he would not be at Brighton by July.

“Normally the next book of passes will find him playing in another institution," it was said (quotes via Bola VIP).

"We don’t know which one, the talks are just beginning in general, but it is most likely that Alexis will already be playing in another team next July.”

Liverpool were forced to stick a pin in their pursuit of Jude Bellingham this week, due to the extortionate transfer fees involved.

However, the decision should free up their budget to spend on the likes of Mac Allister, who Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea are reportedly preparing to offer a massive contract.

Indeed, Brighton are likely to be 'blown out of the water' by the the three clubs when it comes down to the personal terms of Mac Allister's deal, claim Football Insider.
