Liverpool are reportedly preparing a huge contract offer for Brighton midfielder Alexis Mac Allister, amid interest from Premier league rivals Manchester United.

The countdown to the transfer window is on and no one is more ready than Jurgen Klopp, who is is in the market for midfield recruits this summer.

Jude Bellingham has been one of the many names rumoured with a move to Anfield. However, the Reds were forced to put a pin in their pursuit of the 19-year-old due to the extortionate transfer fees involved.

The Merseyside club must now look elsewhere, and Brighton midfielder Mac Allister has emerged as a potential alternative.

Worryingly for Seagulls supporters, the club may find it hard to keep hold of the Argentinian midfielder, with Liverpool and Manchester United allegedly planning to offer Mac Allister a mega-deal.

The 24-year-old playmaker is already among the highest earners at the Amex with a reported wage of £50,000-a-week. Meanwhile, his contract is not due to expire until June 2025.

However, it is thought that Mac Allister is eager to play at a higher level and would struggle to refuse a move to a top club this summer.

The Argentina international has managed ten goals and two assists in 29 appearances across all competitions this season.

While he started all but one game for his country in Qatar, playing a key role in Argentina's path to the final, where they went on to lift the World Cup trophy.
