Former Liverpool Star Brutally Trolls Manchester United

Former Liverpool player Jose Enrique has mocked Manchester United after Christian Eriksen reportedly rejected them.

José Enrique has revealed his delight on Twitter in seeing Manchester United reportedly miss out on the signing of Christian Eriksen.

The former Liverpool left-back refers to a Guardian report insinuating Eriksen would rather stay at Brentford or return to Spurs this summer instead of sign for United.

Enrique’s comment, ‘another player rejects a move to Man Utd this summer…’, has angered Manchester United fans in the comments. They’re pointing to Enrique’s poor record as a Liverpool player against Manchester United in rebuttal.

Enrique himself suggested Liverpool should make a move for Eriksen via Instagram last week. He believes Erkisen would be an excellent short-term solution regarding the lack of creativity in Liverpool’s midfield.

Nevertheless, a move for the Danish midfielder appears unlikely.

Liverpool are instead prioritising keeping hold of the likes of Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain this summer.

It is easy to see why Enrique is basking in the humour of Manchester United’s latest failed transfer dealings.

Alongside Chelsea, they are the only Big Six club not to make a summer signing thus far, and it would appear nothing is close to completion.

Furthermore, the names the Red Devils have been linked with haven’t exactly been inspiring.

Players linked with a move have either taken up the form of a former player of Ten Hag or squad players from fellow Big Six Premier League club.

United fans are worried. Ten Hag was supposed to be guiding his new club back towards its glory days, and at the moment it’d appear he’s struggling to even make a signing.

Liverpool fans, meanwhile, are revelling as they watch their rivals continue to spiral into abyss.

It would appear Liverpool have completed their transfer activity concerning incomings for the summer.

Fabio Carvalho, Darwin Nuñez, and Calvin Ramsay have all been brought in.

The plan to sign a new midfielder has been pushed back to next summer.

So, while things might go a little quiet on the transfer front for José Enrique and his fellow Liverpool fans, they’ll still be able to enjoy watching a United fanbase in turmoil.
