Liverpool star's home burgled after Bournemouth defeat

Liverpool star's home burgled after Bournemouth defeat

A Liverpool star has been burgled.

A Liverpool star had his home burgled following their 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday.

The Reds suffered a shock defeat against relegation threatened Bournemouth which dealt a huge blow to their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League.

Jurgen Klopp's side controlled the game registering six shots on target versus The Cherries' three but couldn't find the back of the net with Mohamad Salah missing a penalty.

Things went from bad to worse for the Egyptian after it was revealed his home had been burgled following the defeat on the South Coast.

Thieves broke into the forward's home in Cairo, Egypt and made off with satellite receivers, according to local reports (via GOAL).

It is being investigated by local authorities with security personnel interviewed and camera footage checked in the hope that the culprits will be found.

Liverpool continue to struggle

Inconsistency has been a huge issue for Liverpool this season and even Salah has hit the levels we know he's capable of.

In the Premier League, he's scored just 11 times in 26 games and has been overshadowed by the sensational goalscoring form shown by Manchester City's Erling Haaland.

The Reds still have a chance of finishing in the top four which will be crucial to helping them rebuild in the transfer market this summer.

However, they can't afford to keep losing to teams like Bournemouth if they are to keep up with Newcastle and Tottenham who are also chasing a Champions League place.

Liverpool don't play at the weekend because their scheduled opponents Fulham feature in the FA Cup.

Their next league clash is against title challengers City which before this season was a game that was a title decider and the Reds will be hoping they can get back to challenging next year.
