Lisandro Martinez jokes with Mason Mount about previous bust-up as Man Utd teammates form immediate bromance

Lisandro Martinez jokes with Mason Mount about previous bust-up as Man Utd teammates form immediate bromance

There's clearly no bad blood between the pair.

Mason Mount looks to have formed an immediate friendship with former enemy Lisandro Martinez as he looks to settle in at Manchester United.

Mount, 24, completed his move from Chelsea to United on Wednesday, signing a five-year deal at Old Trafford with the option of a further year.

United agreed to pay an initial £55m for Mount with a potential further £5m to be paid in add-ons.

The England international becomes United's first signing of the summer transfer window, with the club also in the market for a new goalkeeper and striker.

Mount met up with some of his new teammates on Friday, taking part in his first training session at Carrington.

While not all United players have returned for pre-season, those who didn't take part in June internationals were present – including the likes of Lisandro Martinez and Donny van de Beek, who have recently returned from long-term injuries.

There was speculation it might an awkward first meeting between Mount and Martinez, who clashed during a Premier League match last season.

The pair squared up to each other during the 1-1 draw between Chelsea and United at Stamford Bridge in October.

After tussling for the ball, a foul was given against Mount – causing a break in play. Martinez then pushed Mount in the chest, prompting an angry reaction from the English midfielder.

Mount then squared up to Martinez before his international teammate Luke Shaw rushed in to separate the pair.

Fortunately, there was no bad blood between Mount and Martinez when they met in person at Carrington.

In fact, it was quite the opposite. A bromance between the pair appears to have already formed, with Martinez joking with his new teammate in a video released by the club.

Referencing their previous altercation, Martinez gestured to Mount to join him in a hug and said: "Come my brother. Before we fight, now we love each other."

To which Mount replied: "Together now!"

Mount and Martinez could both feature when United face Leeds in their opening pre-season friendly on Wednesday.
