Trent Alexander-Arnold has spoken out to reveal exactly how he feels about his Real Madrid teammates after the win over Red Bull Salzburg.

In the early hours of Friday morning, Real Madrid booked their place in the knockout stages of the revamped Club World Cup with a dominant 3-0 win over Austrian side RB Salzburg.

Just weeks after securing a move from boyhood club Liverpool, Alexander-Arnold was handed his third successive start for Real Madrid in the must-win match.

Following two lacklustre performances against both Al Hilal and Pachuca, Alexander-Arnold appeared to turn things around as Real Madrid boss Xabi Alonso played him in a new position.

After the match, Alexander-Arnold spoke with the media, giving a telling assessment about his teammates and how they have treated him since his arrival.

Having spent his entire career so far with Liverpool, who have had several heated clashes with Real Madrid over the years, Alexander-Arnold would likely have been nervous arriving at his new club.

But after the win over Salzburg, he not only praised his teammates for their performance but also for how they have welcomed him into the team.

He said: "Every player is impressing me. From when I played against Real Madrid, (I knew) all the players are world class. But just the way the lads are; when you come in, you expect it to be very intimidating, you don’t know what to expect.

"But it was very warm, very welcoming, they made me feel at home straight away, which was amazing. It allows me to play as well as I can and today coming into the game, I was confident to go and perform."

Of course, joining England teammate at close friend Jude Bellingham at Real Madrid will have likely put the 26-year-old more at ease ahead of his arrival.

Alexander-Arnold also appeared to address his rocky start at Madrid, promising that he had now adjusted to playing for the Spanish club and is now ready to help the team win trophies.

“The settlement period now is done and it’s about kicking on and being the best player that I can be and giving the best for the team and helping the team win as many games as possible starting with this competition," he added.
