Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has promised that the Spanish giants will make "the biggest offer in the club's history" for a so-called "Galáctico", but it won't be anyone from the Premier League.
As the club's presidential election campaign enters its final days, Perez has made a huge statement as he continues to do battle with challenger Enrique Riquelme.
Earlier this week, Riquelme guaranteed the signing of Manchester City forward Erling Haaland if he won the vote ahead of Perez. In fact, he held up a Los Blancos shirt with 'Haaland 9' on the back.
However, that stunt backfired and Manchester City are believed to be considering taking legal action after Haaland's father and agent, Rafaela Pimenta, played down the suggestions.

So, what has Perez done to impress voters? In his latest speech, the 79-year-old confirmed that Madrid will make a record-breaking bid for a young player.
"On Tuesday, I'm going to make an offer to an important, Champions League club, for a great player," he said. "It would be the most money that Real Madrid have paid for a player in history. At least €150 million."
Florentino Perez drops further hints at next Real Madrid signing
Perez ruled out a number of names, including Manchester City's Jeremy Doku and Bayern Munich forward Michael Olise.
"It isn't [Michael] Olise, he's a great player, but it isn't Olise," he said.
"It isn't [Jeremy] Doku, it isn't Haaland. It isn't [Harry] Kane. It's a player who plays from the midfield, or further forwards. And he isn't a Premier League player. He's a total Galáctico. But first we'll talk to his club."
A report from Marca claims Perez's statement points to two Paris Saint-Germain players – Vitinha or Joao Neves.

For what its worth, seven players are currently valued between €110-150 million on Transfermarkt, including Arsenal pair Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice, but they play in the Premier League.
Four of those names, Desire Doue (€120m), Vitinha (€140m), Joao Neves (€140m) and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (€140m), play their football for recently-crowned Champions League winners PSG.
The other is highly unlikely to make the switch to Madrid. Pedri, who plays for rivals Barcelona, is valued at €150 million.
Real Madrid have almost wrapped up second summer signing, according to Tijjani Reijnders
Earlier this week, Manchester City midfielder Tijjani Reijnders confirmed to reporters that his national team teammate Denzel Dumfries will join Madrid, despite the transfer not being formally announced by the club.
Reijnders was tasked with speaking to the media ahead of the Netherlands' friendly against Uzbekistan, which will take place on June 8 at Icahn Stadium in New York City, and he let slip the transfer news.
“Denzel Dumfries' transfer to Real Madrid? Yes, we all congratulated him, it's a big step for him and we're very happy for him," the midfielder said. “He's shown what he can do in the past two seasons, so signing with Real Madrid is justified.”
Dumfries, meanwhile, refused to confirm whether a move to Madrid was happening when speaking to reporters.
“I really can't say anything about it,” he told De Telegraaf. “My time at Inter fills me with pride. I'm going to the World Cup with the Netherlands to give it my all. I'm only focused on that. We'll see what happens with the rest later.”
Madrid's transfer record is currently the $119.6 million they paid for Jude Bellingham.
