A member of Barcelona's squad has issued a fierce warning to boss Hansi Flick that he is not prepared to accept a reduced role at the club following Marcus Rashford's arrival.
Rashford has joined the Catalan club on loan for the season from Manchester United, where it appears he no longer has a future under Ruben Amorim.
After spending the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa, Rashford has moved to the La Liga side with an option to eventually make the transfer a permanent one next summer for a reported fee of £30.3 million.

Rashford last played for United in December 2024 during a Europa League clash against Viktoria Plzen and is not in boss Amorim's plans, having been part of a 'bomb squad' of players who are no longer wanted at Old Trafford.
Rashford made his La Liga debut for Barcelona this weekend, having been named on the bench by Flick for the trip to Mallorca.
Barca won 3-0 to begin their La Liga title defence, with goals from Raphinha, Ferran Torres and a late third from Lamine Yamal securing three points against nine-man Mallorca.

Rashford entered the action as a 69th minute substitute for Torres as he became the first English player since Gary Lineker in 1989 to play for Barcelona.
There had been a race against time for Barcelona to register Rashford, with the club having had difficulties in registering players of late due to Spanish financial fair play rules.

Another player who came off the bench in the encounter was Dani Olmo, who replaced Fermin Lopez at half-time.

Olmo rejoined Barca in August 2024 from RB Leipzig - having originally been with the club as a youngster - but moved to Croatian side Dinamo Zagreb.
However, Olmo missed games for Barca immediately after rejoining the club due to registration and salary cap issues, and this problem reared its head again midway through last season, which raised the prospect of the Spain international having the option of becoming a free agent and negotiating a move to a new club.
Rashford's arrival adds further competition to Barcelona's forward areas and the places Olmo is competing for.
And according to Catalan publication El Nacional, Olmo has warned his boss Flick that he does not want to have a reduced role following Rashford's arrival.

The piece states: "Dani Olmo faces the new season with a strong message: he will not be content with being a simple wild card in Hansi Flick's scheme.
"With the return of the Champions League as a major objective, Flick needs players who can step up at key moments. Dani Olmo wants to be one of them and does not plan on accepting a secondary role in a team that needs leaders on and off the field.
"In short, Dani faces the course with the determination to reverse any doubts about his performance. He knows that the challenge is not easy, but he is ready: his goal is to become an undisputed Barca player, not a simple wild card for Flick."
Last season, Olmo scored 12 goals for Barcelona across 39 matches in all competitions.
