Barcelona fans all in agreement over Anthony Gordon after Lamine Yamal's performance against Levante

Barcelona secured a 4-2 win over Levante to maintain their perfect start to La Liga, as they have won their opening five points.

Hansi Flick’s side sit top of the Spanish top flight, three points clear of their nearest rivals Real Madrid, who have lost one of their opening five fixtures as the pair look destined to fight it out for the La Liga title.

Once again, there is English interest in what is happening at the Catalan club, as Anthony Gordon made his way to the Camp Nou for this season after Marcus Rashford spent the last campaign in Barcelona.

Gordon started against Levante as he aimed to add to his impressive beginning at Barcelona; however, fans were quick to come to an agreement regarding an incident regarding the English international after Lamine Yamal made a decisive decision.

Barcelona made a swift start to their match against Levante as Xavi Espart netted after just five minutes, with the lead doubled just before the 20^th minute as Yamal netted his first of the day.

The La Liga champions would play with relative ease for the remainder of the half before making a swift start after the interval as Yamal made it 3-0 in the 48^th minute from the penalty spot.

It was this decision by Yamal that many fans took exception to, as they believed the Spanish international should have handed the ball to Gordon for him to get his first goal for Barcelona.

Fans took to social media to express their minor frustration at Yamal to not handing Gordon the chance to get his maiden goal.

One supporter wrote: “Why couldn't they give the penalty to Anthony Gordon who needs a goal to boost his confidence. Lamine is just too selfish.”

Another said: “Anthony Gordon should have had that penalty.”

While on made the point: “Lamine Yamal is very greedy, Anthony Gordon hasn’t scored a goal for Barcelona yet instead of giving him the chance he took the penalty.”

Following this goal, Barcelona would cause themselves some issues in the final minutes as they conceded twice before the 90^th minute to make it 3-2; however, they confirmed the three points in stoppage time as Karim Adeyemi scored a phenomenal solo goal.

Fans of the Catalan club are willing for the English international to get a goal, but they have seen the funny side of his struggles in front of goal due to his overall positive performances.

One fan said: “Xavi Espart scored a goal before Anthony Gordon, haha woah. He better be on a hot scoring streak in the PSG and Madrid run.”

Another said: “Oh, Gordon's goal only goes in at the end of the world; it's not possible.”

Anthony Gordon’s start to life at Barcelona

Gordon joined Barcelona this summer and has now made six appearances for the club since his exit from Newcastle United.

While he has not managed to score a goal across these six fixtures to this point, he has already made four assists.

In his debut, Gordon provided two assists as Barcelona cruised to a 5-0 victory over Elche, before getting two more assists against Rayo Vallecano in his third La Liga fixture for the Catalan side.

His final assist would come against Valencia, when the team would emerge as 5-0 winners.

Gordon will not be panicking about his luck in front of goal, as he knows it will come eventually if he continues to play in the manner that he is.
