Fabrizio Romano has revealed whether we can expect Lamine Yamal to feature in the World Cup following his brutal injury.
On Wednesday night, Barcelona superstar Yamal suffered a freak injury when scoring a penalty to put the Spanish giants nine points clear
Although Barcelona now look certain to go on and win La Liga this season, the injury appeared to be bad enough that it would mean they would have to do so without their star player.
And just six weeks to go until the World Cup kicks off in North America, the injury cast doubts on whether the 18-year-old would be back and ready to compete for Spain in June.

But now, top football journalist Romano has revealed exactly when we can expect to see Yamal back on the pitch and if he will be available for the World Cup.
Posting on X, Romano confirmed that Yamal is out for the remainder of the season, but he will have recovered in time to play for Spain over the summer.
He wrote: "Lamine Yamal will be OUT for the rest of the season with Barcelona with the hamstring injury.
"He’s expected to return in time for the World Cup."
Across 44 games this season, Yamal has scored 24 goals and assisted another 17 in a seriously impressive individual campaign for Barcelona and will therefore be sorely missed.
However, the news will no doubt be a huge relief for Spain supporters, as Yamal is expected to be one of the standout players in what will be his first World Cup.
It is unclear if Yamal will be fit for Spain's opening match against Cape Verde on June 15, or if he is only expected to be back fit at some point during the tournament.
Barcelona release statement confirming extent of Lamine Yamal's injury
Shortly after the news broke, Barcelona released an official statement confirming the news that nobody wanted to hear.
It stated: "The tests carried out have confirmed that first-team player Lamine Yamal has a hamstring injury in his left leg (biceps femoris muscle).
"The player will follow a conservative treatment plan. Lamine Yamal will miss the remainder of the season, and he is expected to be available for the World Cup."
