Anthony Gordon had made a strong start to life at the Camp Nou with Barcelona before the international break, as he had registered four assists in his opening six La Liga games.
The one negative from this beginning was the fact that he had not scored a goal; however, the England international has silenced any doubters by scoring his first in the Catalan club’s 3-0 win over Getafe on Saturday.
As he grabbed this goal, the true feelings about Gordon’s start have now been revealed by Hansi Flick and Barcelona as he grabbed a La Liga record once he hit the net.

Barcelona’s true feelings on Anthony Gordon as he sets La Liga record
The Catalan club maintained their perfect start to the campaign as they secured all three points against Getafe.

Barca won the game thanks to goals from Gordon, Gabriel Jesus, and Jules Kounde, as they maintained five points ahead of second-placed Atletico Madrid.
The English international hit the net after one minute and 18 seconds of play, making it the fastest goal in La Liga this season. Previously, this record had been held by Espanyol player Alvaro Garcia, who took only two minutes and 10 seconds earlier in the campaign.
Now, Flick has made his feelings known about Gordon since he made the move to Barcelona from Newcastle United.
The German manager appears to be a big fan, as he said: "He is doing great. He was also doing well in the previous matches when he did not score. You could see in the break playing for England he scored and he had the confidence to keep this going with Barca.
“He gives us a lot. He has speed, moves well with the ball, (and) all the dribbling (ability) he has. He is always dangerous and creates chances.”
In a report written by The Athletic, in addition to his impressive performances on the pitch, he has been fantastic off the pitch. The article wrote that following England’s loss to Spain in the recent international break, Gordon took it upon himself to make his way to meet his Barca teammates on the pitch and had a laugh with them.
It appears to have been well received by his teammates as Gordon looks to ingratiate himself to his Barca teammates, his manager and the fans of the club. It does not take an expert to realise that more goals on the pitch will also help him do this.

Anthony Gordon’s emotional response to scoring his first goal for Barcelona
The 25-year-old appeared to have a weight lifted off his shoulders as soon as he hit the net with his strike. Gordon looked more free once he got his goal and now he can focus on providing incredible performances without the growing pressure of being blank in front of goal.
Gordon stated after the match that he hopes it is the first of many in the colours of Barcelona, which with the rate at which the club score he should not have too worry too much about that.
He said: “I feel very good with the way people have welcomed me. It’s so good. My family and I are very happy. We’ve made a good start, but I can do more and more. Hopefully this will be the first of many goals.
“If I was expecting this start? Well, I hoped. Maybe I did not expect it because Barcelona are the best club in the world. I did not expect to have this connection with the club so fast. But I am so happy because it makes my football better, every touch and every dribble.
“I’ve waited longer than I wanted for that goal! I should have scored before, but I am very happy today. I am in a good little run scoring goals, and I want to keep going. As I said, I can do so much more than what everyone has seen. I’ve started well, but I hope for much more.”
