Juventus have been docked 10 points in a fresh penalty after their initial 15-point deduction for financial rule violations in the transfer market had been reversed on appeal.

The Federal Court of Appeal today confirmed that Juve would face the new punishment, which drops them down to seventh in the Serie A standings and leaves them outside of the European spots with just three games left to play.

Juve will have the chance to appeal the latest points deduction, which could yet mean a sixth trial on the case.

Last year, the Serie A club's entire board, including Pavel Nedved, quit after an investigation into the club's finances was opened.

In December, UEFA announced that the CFCB First Chamber would open an investigation into the club for potential breaches surrounding club licensing and Financial Fair Play regulations.

And a month later, the Italian side were handed a 15-point deduction to their Serie A points total for 'financial irregularities' and 'false accounting' in relation to past transfer dealings.

The ruling also came with lengthy bans for multiple former board members, including Andrea Agnelli, Federico Cherubini and Fabio Paratici.

Back in April following an appeal, the points were reversed, meaning Juventus had initially knocked both AC Milan and Inter Milan out of the Champions League spots.

But this latest news from the Federal Court of Appeal puts them down to seventh and out of a European spot.

As mentioned earlier, it is theoretically possible for The Old Lady to lodge a further appeal but it has been suggested that there is a slim chance of it being successful.

Napoli have already secured the Serie A title. In fact, they currently sit 18 points ahead of second place Lazio with two league games left of the 2022/23 campaign.
