Arsenal fans mock Dusan Vlahovic after Juventus points deduction

A year ago the Gunners were desperate to sign Vlahovic and he and his agent were desperate not to move to north London, but it's backfired.

Arsenal fans have not held back on Dusan Vlahovic, after Juventus were given a 15 point deduction in Serie A, and ended their chances of winning the league.

On Friday night, it was announced that the Italian giants were to be given a huge punishment, after they were found guilty of capital gain violations.

They have got the right to appeal the deduction, and have it overturned, but if it's upheld then it will leave them in 10th place in the league.

Massimiliano Allegri's side were already 10 points behind leaders Napoli, as they attempted to recapture the title for the first time in three years, but that is now a whopping 25 points.

The added issue for the Old Lady now is even finishing in the top four and qualifying for the Champions League, something that's the bare minimum for them every year.

Their points deduction now leaves them 12 points behind fourth placed Lazio, with Atalanta and Roma level on points with Maurizio Sarri's team.

It looks unlikely then that they'll be playing in the top tier of European football next season, a further blow after they were knocked out of the competition's group stage in the current campaign, after losing to Maccabi Haifa.

All of that has seen Arsenal fans take to social media to mock Vlahovic, who the club tried to sign last January but turned them down in order to go to Turin.

"He got knocked out by Villarreal in his first 2 games, dropped to Europa league in his first full campaign and now he won’t play it next season," on fan pointed out, also mentioning last season's disastrous defeat for Allegri's team.

"Still has a few days to push for a move, if he knows what's good for him," a second said.

Reports claimed that the 22-year-old's agent wouldn't answer Arsenal's calls last year, and another fan replied, "I hope players can learn from this and stamp their feet when their agents mislead them for money deals."

Another was getting very optimistic about signing other Juve stars, adding, "Get me Federico Chiesa as Bukayo Saka understudy. Get me Adrien Rabiot as Granit Xhaka successor, then we cook."

A fifth honestly stated, "I’m enjoying his downfall. Hopefully it’s only downhill from here. Yes, I am a hater."

And a final supporter opined, "Man didn’t wanna answer our calls.. I love seeing their suffering."

There is still a chance that the former Fiorentina striker and his teammates could qualify for next season's Champions League, if they win the Europa League.

The Gunners on the other hand look like a very decent bet to return to the competition, for the first time since the 2016/17 season.

They currently lead Manchester City by five points, which would have been eight points if it wasn't for their local rivals Tottenham Hotspur collapsing from a 2-0 lead to lose 4-2 to Pep Guardiola's team on Thursday night.

On Sunday, they face Manchester United, who are the only team to have beaten them in the league this season, and Erik ten Hag's side will be without Casemiro.
