Fans slam Jurgen Klopp after he makes 'excuse' after Liverpool's goalless draw at Crystal Palace

Fans slam Jurgen Klopp after he makes 'excuse' after Liverpool's goalless draw at Crystal Palace

Jurgen Klopp referenced his side's defeat to Real Madrid following the 0-0 draw against Crystal Palace.

Jurgen Klopp has been slammed by fans online following his post-match interview after Liverpool's 0-0 draw at Crystal Palace.

The Reds played out a goalless draw at Selhurst Park on Saturday following their crushing 5-2 defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League.

And Klopp referenced his side's heavy loss at Anfield when he spoke to Sky Sports after his side picked up a point against Patrick Vieira's team.

"If you have three games in a week or two games it's a big difference," he said.

The German boss' decision to bring up the defeat to Real Madrid and bemoan having to play two games in a week didn't go down well with people on social media.

Manchester United fans reacted angrily as they were in action on Thursday ahead of their Carabao Cup final against Newcastle on Sunday.

One Twitter user wrote: "Man has a excuse for everything, I’m starting to think his excuses will have excuses."

A second tweeted: "I swear Klopp thinks Liverpool are the only team who play that amount of games."

A third added: "Keep whining, Man Utd has been playing every 3days since before the World Cup."

A fourth said: "I forget they are the only team who play more than once a week!"

Another commented: "Acting like no one else is playing 3 games a week, plus united are still in 4 competitions."

Liverpool, meanwhile, currently occupy seventh place in the table, with 36 points on the board, six points behind fourth-placed Tottenham.

They resume their league campaign next Wednesday when they host Wolves before facing old rivals Man United at Anfield.
