Jurgen Klopp REFUSED to speak to James Pearce during his post-match press conference following Liverpool's humiliating defeat at Wolves.

Wolves began the day occupying 18th place in the Premier League table as they welcomed Liverpool to Molineux on Saturday.

And they stunned Klopp's side, taking a two-goal lead inside 12 minutes - thanks to an own-goal by Joel Matip and a strike from Craig Dawson.

It didn't get any better for the Reds in the second-half as Ruben Neves added a third in the 71st minute to secure three huge points to lift them out of the relegation zone.

Liverpool were condemned to their seventh league defeat of the season and suffered another slow start - the story of their campaign.

And Pearce, who writes for The Athletic, pressed Klopp on the why his team have been starting so slowly in games this season.

But the German boss refused to answer his question, referencing the things he's been writing about Liverpool.

"It's really difficult to talk to you, If I'm being 100 per cent honest. I'd prefer not to do that," he said.

"You know why... for all the things you wrote. If somebody else wants to ask that question, then I'll answer it."

Another reported poised the question to Klopp, who acknowledged the theme as he slammed his team's performance in the opening 12 minutes against Wolves.

"That's true, we had that subject through the first part of the season and now not so much anymore, but today it was, if you want, the pinnacle of our problems because in a game like this it is absolutely not allowed," he explained.

"You can criticise, you can judge us, you can say whatever want and you are probably right - I have nothing to say against that because these 12 minutes are not allowed.

"Coming here with all the things we did in the last few days - and during the whole season so far - with what we want, then you arrive here and this is the outcome, that’s really hard to take, I have to say."

Liverpool sit in 10th place in the table as they resume their faltering league campaign at home to cross-town rivals Everton on February 13.
