Jurgen Klopp has been named as a 'dream' manager in a move that would risk damaging his status as a Liverpool legend.

Klopp has been out of management since his Liverpool departure, where he built an incredible legacy.

He won the Premier League and the Champions League during his iconic spell at Anfield before leaving his post at the end of the 2024/25 season.

In January 2025, the 58-yer-old joined the Red Bull Group as their head of global soccer.

A return to management has been mooted, with Real Madrid thought to be keeping tabs on Klopp if they part ways with current boss Xabi Alonso.

His name has also been bandied about in the wake of Enzo Maresca leaving Chelsea.

And ex-Chelsea star Joe Cole has called Klopp his 'dream' appointment for his old side.

"I know it’s a mental one but Jurgen Klopp, I know he probably won’t even consider it because it’s Chelsea and he’s Liverpool, but you just never know," he told Paddy Power.

"If your main aim as a football club is to win trophies and you have the money, you go and speak to the top, top boys. I know it seems like it’s pie in the sky, but if you don’t have that mindset then you’re always banking on developing the next best manager, which they thought they were doing with Enzo Maresca."

Could Chelsea appoint Jurgen Klopp?

Klopp joining Chelsea wouldn't go down well with Liverpool fans given their rivalry with the Blues over the years, which ranges from Premier League games to Champions League battles.

Having won the league title in England, the German would be a major coup if Chelsea were able to lure him back to management.

But, according to The Telegraph, Chelsea are not expected to go for a 'star name', ruling out Klopp.

They are thought to be working on a deal to appoint Liam Rosenior, who is currently at Strasbourg.

Rosenior managed Hull City, having played at the club during his playing days.

He was appointed by Strasbourg, who share the same ownership as Chelsea, in July 2024.
