People Think Jose Mourinho Is Ready For A ‘Last Dance’ With Insane Potential Roma XI

People Think Jose Mourinho Is Ready For A ‘Last Dance’ With Insane Potential Roma XI

Mourinho won the Europa Conference League with Roma back in May.

Fans think Jose Mourinho is ready for 'one last dance' at the elite level after seeing his potential Roma side for this season.

Mourinho guided the Italian giants to Europa Conference League glory back in May - the first major European honour in their history.

They finished sixth in Serie A however and seven points behind Juventus in fourth. Mourinho does not want that to happen again.

He has added quality to his squad and there could be more players on the way.

Veteran goalkeeper Rui Patricio is likely to keep his place, but Mile Svilar's arrival on a free transfer could offer stiff competition.

Many expect Roma to line up with a back three once again and that means Gianluca Mancini, Chris Smalling and Roger Ibanez will be called upon again.

Mourinho is looking to add depth however and a reunion with Manchester United defender Eric Bailly, who he signed during his time at Old Trafford, is on the cards.

No stranger to signing his former charges, Mourinho has already lured Nemanja Matic to Rome after his United contract expired.

He could partner Georginio Wijnaldum in midfield, with the Netherlands international close to leaving Paris Saint-Germain on loan.

Wijnaldum was named the worst signing in Ligue 1 last year and wants to kickstart his career ahead of this winter's World Cup in Qatar.

Wingbacks are likely to be Rick Karsdorp and Leonardo Spinazzola, but Zeki Celik will challenge Karsdorp on the right.

In attack is where things start to get interesting. Captain Lorenzo Pellegrini and Paulo Dybala are expected to support striker Tammy Abraham, who scored 27 goals in all competitions after signing from Chelsea last summer.

Dybala is a five-time Serie A winner with Juventus and seen as a major coup for the Giallorossi, with shirt sales already through the roof.

Abraham is looking forward to working alongside Dybala and told Gazzetta dello Sport: "I think it’s a privilege to have such a strong player become part of our team."

"It means a lot for the fans, who in fact gave me a fantastic welcome. The message seems clear to me: the club is developing a great technical project and the results are there for everyone to see."

Roma start their domestic campaign away to Salernitana on August 14 and you can check out their potential team in full below.
