Jesse Lingard just hit the 'Griddy' celebration on Spurs, their fans say they're finished

Jesse Lingard hit the 'Griddy' celebration after putting Nottingham Forest two-up against Tottenham in the EFL Cup.

Renan Lodi opened the scoring just after the break, with Lingard doubling his side's lead at the City Ground.

Sam Surridge picked out Lingard, who headed home from close range to make it 2-0.

And the former Manchester United star celebrated in style after bagging his first goal for Forest, performing the 'Griddy' celebration to the frustration of Spurs fans on social media.

One Twitter user wrote: "Lingard hitting the Griddy? Yeah I’m ready to not watch this team for a month."

A second tweeted: "Aurier crossing it in inevitably allowing Lingard to score and Griddy on us sums up Tottenham."

A third added: "Lingard hitting the Griddy on Tottenham they really are finished."

A fourth commented: "No way we let Lingard Griddy on us... we are truly finished."

Another joked: "Lingard hitting the Griddy on us and getting ole’d by bottom of the league in the 65th minute..."

Forest were reduced to 10 men when Orel Mangala was sent off, but they held on for the win to book their spot in the next round of the competition.

Lingard, who joined Forest during the summer transfer window, will be looking to kick on from here following a tough start to the season.
