West Ham forward Jarrod Bowen suffered a gruesome finger injury in Saturday's Premier League match against Wolves.

The England international appeared to dislocate one of his fingers in act of scoring for the Hammers in the second half.

The camera picked up Bowen wincing in pain, with one his fingers bent at an abnormal angle.

Play had to be stopped for several minutes while Bowen was treated by the medical staff.

West Ham fans were quick to react to Bowen's injury on social media.

"Oh that's a nasty finger injury for Bowen," wrote one fan on Twitter.

"OUCH!!!!! Bowen dislocated his finger," posted another.

While a third wrote: "I know how you feel Bowen. Had a lot of injuries due to football but dislocating my finger and putting it back is the worst."

Fortunately, Bowen was able to continue as West Ham saw out a much-needed 2-0 win at the London Stadium.

The Hammers took the lead through new signing, Gianluca Scamacca, after half an hour.

The Italian scored his first Premier League goal with a superb strike from outside the box, with Bowen heavily involved in the build-up.

Bowen then doubled the home side's lead after the break with his first league goal of the season - a brilliant swivel and finish into the bottom corner.

Victory for West Ham sees them move up to 15th in the table, with David Moyes' side now a point clear of the relegation zone.

Wolves are now third bottom having taken just six points from their opening eight matches this season.
