Jadon Sancho's celebration after scoring for Manchester United was a wholesome one as he dedicated it to a young fan he met recently.

Sancho put United 1-0 up against Sheriff Tiraspol in the Europa League, finishing a flowing move that featured a gorgeous Christian Eriksen pass.

The former Borussia Dortmund winger shimmied in the area and rolled the ball into the bottom corner with his left foot.

For his celebration, Sancho took off his shin-pad and held it aloft. The shin-pads had been given to him recently by Jacob, a massive United supporter.

Sancho celebrating with the shinpads that kid gave him ❤️

A fan on the street gave Sancho shinpads with his face painted on them, and he actually wore them and took them out to celebrate his goal. Very sweet moment.

Sancho pulled up in his car and wound his window down to sign the youngster's matchday programme.

But he also received a special gift as the lad handed him personalised shinnies. Sancho gratefully accepted them and the boy’s father told the winger he should wear them in his next game.

"Of course I will, " Sancho replied, before giving a high five and driving off.

It was a wonderful gesture from Sancho, who will have definitely have made Jacob's year. We'd love to know how he reacted when Sancho displayed the shin-pads he gave him.

Jacob and his dad John have a joint Instagram account which has 33,000 followers and features content of him meeting players.

He's given shin-pads to Scott McTominay, Alejandro Garnacho and Bruno Fernandes.

Sancho's goal was a positive response to being left out of Gareth Southgate's England squad despite a strong start to the new campaign.

Although he has been displaced at centre-back, United skipper Harry Maguire is one of 12 defenders included for games against Italy and Germany.
