Jordan Henderson BLOCKS Trent Alexander-Arnold's free-kick, stops an almost certain goal

Liverpool fans can't believe it.

Jordan Henderson inadvertently STOPPED Liverpool from scoring after getting in the way of Trent Alexander-Arnold's fierce free-kick.

Liverpool were awarded a free-kick in a dangerous position after Crystal Palace defender Nathaniel Clyne fouled Diogo Jota.

Mohamed Salah and Alexander-Arnold stood over the ball, with the Egyptian forward playing a short pass to his teammate.

From there, the Liverpool right-back struck a brilliant shot that appeared destined to hit the back of the net.

But his captain got in the way as he headed the ball out for a goal kick, stopping an almost certain goal.

Naturally, Henderson preventing his side from scoring angered Liverpool fans on social media.

One Twitter user wrote: "That’s genuinely rifling into the side netting and Henderson had blocked it, I hate him so much."

A second tweeted: "F**k sake Henderson been a poor performance in general but that was horrendous."

A third added: "Henderson literally playing against us hahahahahaha."

A fourth said: "That’s 1-0 if Henderson just gets out the way."

Another commented: "Henderson literally playing for palace."
